Members of Contract Construction, Inc. (builder), LS3P Associates, Ltd. (architect), and the staff, students and administration of Coastal Carolina University celebrated the completion of the Science Annex II building on the campus of Coastal Carolina University in Conway, SC, on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
Contract Construction completed the construction of a 71,150 sq. ft. second annex to Coastal Carolina’s current Science Building which was constructed in 1980. The new annex consists of an estimated forty faculty offices, eight teaching labs for (Introductory Biology and Introductory Marine Science), four sixty seat classrooms, two forty-five seat classrooms, and one Ecology teaching lab and six small labs for Ecology research.
This addition is consistent with Coastal Carolina’s plans to renovate the existing science building back to classroom space. The new state-of-the-art science building integrates all science instruction, including marine science and computer science, which had previously been facilitated in remote locations on the main campus.
