Cayce, SC, February, 2017
Airport High School special education and athletics needs more space. To help alleviate tight spaces, the Lexington District 2 Board approved improvements to Airport High School at a special meeting on January 31, 2017.
The board approved Contract Construction, Inc.’s proposal as part of the $225 million bond referendum voters approved in 2014. Renovations to the school include a new special-needs area, new art rooms and a theatrical classroom. The gym will have new rest rooms and a renovated locker room accessible for girls and boys, depending on which team is playing. This will allow Airport to host events including volleyball and wrestling tournaments. An old stage will be demolished and the weight room will be expanded and renovated.
