Park officials and local community members gathered together yesterday to celebrate the expansion of Leo’s Landing Inclusive Playground at Saluda Shoals Park with a groundbreaking ceremony. Contract Construction is proud to serve as the contractor for the expansion, which will add an additional two acres of inclusive playspace to the existing playground. This highly anticipated expansion completes the long term vision for the project.
Leo’s Landing Inclusive Playground fosters inclusion, friendship, and understanding among children and adults of all abilities using nature-based play elements. New additions to the park will include:
- Mogul Outpost — the future home of a swing designed for children of all abilities and play scape structures with challenges, including a climbing arch and mini bridges.
- Zip Krooz — a 2-way zip line, which will include inclusive seating options.
- A musical entryway.
- A low-energy space designed to build connections in intimate spaces like the reading + kindness corner, hammock park, and hobbit village.
- An ADA trail adventure with various terrain and equipment challenges.
