C.E. WILLIAMS MIDDLE SCHOOL
| Charleston, SC | Contract Construction was selected as the General Contractor by Charleston County School District to construct a new, 137,277 SF Middle School, including construction of a new City road to access the school. The two-story facility replaced an aging 1950’s facility located on an educational campus with adjacent high school, public library, and career center serving the high school. The core amenities of the building serve 1,200 students to accommodate a 300 student future expansion. The site conditions proved to be a large and unforeseen challenge for this project. Grading and fill placement for the building pad and surrounding site were contracted as part of a larger early site package by the District, prior to our selection. Due to our team performing beyond their expectations on this project, Charleston County School District awarded Contract the first ever “E” award for Contractor of the Year. The “E” award replicates the Army – Nave “E” Award-an honor presented to companies during WWII who achieved “Excellence in Production.”
